Whats the news on the Rialto?

Shakespeare even referenced it 'In the Merchant of Venice', the Rialto has been a famous place of commerce since the 1200's.  Today its just as busy with tourists, trinket shops and gondola's gliding by. The vistas are romantic and leave you feeling like you've just stepped back in time via some travel portal - love Venice!
