Got off at Monument Tube and climbed 'The Monument' a column built to commemorate the great fire of London and the rebuilding of the city. The fire started in a bakers house in Pudding Lane in 1666. The monument was designed by Sir Christopher Wren who also designed the magnificent St Paul's Cathedral.
Next stop was St Paul's Tube where we alighted to climb yet again another 528 steps to the top of the cathedral dome. We sat at the whispering level of the dome where you can whisper to the wall and have your message travel over to the opposite side to be heard, which the kids had fun doing - no photos allowed unfortunately.
