Geneva

Geneva is a grand city on a lake with a stunning mountain backdrop.  We were excited to be there as it was the spring board to our skiing holiday in Chamonix but it was also to learn more about the Humanitarian institutions situated there.  The Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum was really great providing interactive exhibits explaining the principles of Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality and Independence in responding to populations around the world affected by natural disaster or war.  Recent Corona events has shown that maybe some of the institutions like the WHO are not as autonomous politically as thought.

Stayed at the Edelweiss Manotel Hotel with its kitsch cheese
fondue restaurant and traditional Swiss entertainment.
