New Zealand's North Island

We spent a week over Easter school holidays exploring the North Island of New Zealand - what an amazing place! the scenery is spectacular, the geothermal sites awesome to quote Oren, and the Maori culture and history fascinating.

The holiday began on Air NewZealand as Hollander was asked to dress up as a hostess and offer sweets to all the passengers - which she loved doing.

Would you like a sweetie!

We arrived in Wellington which is a very liveable city situated on a spectacular harbour surrounded by mountains at the southern end of the North Island.

Alex used to work in Wellington when Oren was a baby and flew home weekends so we finally got to visit the hospital where he was positioned. Wellington has a groovy shopping/dining strip and the best National Museum at Te PaPa which we could have spent longer at.
