The family went on a long trip for the 19/20 Christmas break unbeknown to us at the time we were just ahead of the Covid-19 pandemic which followed us home. Hollander's school wouldn't let her return for 2 weeks because we had passed through Hong Kong even though at the time the Government was saying it wasn't an issue unless you had been to Wuhan. Little did we know that a month later all boarders would be shut down and travel suspended for the indefinite future.
Hong Kong was our stop over at the start and end our holiday, we had some interesting experiences and learnt a lot from the taxi drivers who were vocal about main land China's oppression of their democratic system and riots at the time, and then on return they were vocal about the CPC suppressing information about the new virus that they were aware of months earlier.
